A composition around a lesser-known vegetal musk: the multifaceted amber. Amber seeds are harvested by hand in small batches scattered in the tropical dry forests of northern Peru. Sun dried, sifted, cleaned and aerated, they eventually release floral and powdery accents along with notes of musk and amber. Here, perfumer Marie Hugentobler chooses to fully express these rich and complex facets. Following the clear and luminous opening of mandarin and angelica, the sensual and slightly carnal notes of amber unfold and settle sparingly and elegantly into a base of sandalwood and ambroxan.
